Membership Information

The Emiquon Audubon Society (EAS) was formed in 1999 to promote appreciation and understanding of nature and to support the conservation of natural resources. EAS places a special emphasis on the rich natural resources of the Illinois River Valley in Mason County and other nearby natural areas, and works with other groups to promote environmental awareness. EAS is a local chapter of the Illinois Audubon Society (IAS), the longest existing conservation organization in Illinois, founded in 1897. IAS focuses primarily on state and local issues, and works to preserve habitat, especially for threatened and endangered species, and to foster an appreciation of wildlife through education.
