Midwest Central Project Success--CUSD #191What is Project Success? In 1991, at Governor Edgar's request, individuals representing education, human services, and community- based organizations, developed recommendations to improve the health and human service delivery for school-age children and their families, to ensure that all children come to school prepared to learn, and that they continue to receive necessary support during school. In 1992, six pilot communities began using the proposed model. Project Success-School/Communities Networks for Successful Families was implemented. Illinois now has more than 162 communities participating with elementary and middle schools.
The project is guided by the following vision: Project Success brings community members together to provide the necessary supports for their children to succeed in school.
