Curbside Delivery and Contactless Walk-Up Service

Please be patient as we continuously evolve to accommodate the current situation. Procedures are subject to change.

 

How Do I Return Materials?

The library’s outdoor book return is now available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Please return all materials to the book return; staff cannot accept returns in-person. In accordance with our library system’s guidelines, all returned items are quarantined for 120 hours (5 days.) Expect returned items to remain on your account for several days before they are checked in. As always, we charge no late fines; we only charge for lost or damaged materials. All currently checked out items have a due date of July 13, 2020.

How Do I Check Out Materials?

In addition to our online e-books, we are offering two new services—Curbside Delivery and Contactless Walk-Up Service.

Curbside Delivery:

1. Request materials by calling 309-543-4701 or by using your online library account at https://alsi.sdp.sirsi.net/client/en_US/HavanaPLD/

2. A library staff member will call you to set up a pickup time. They will ask for your name and/or library card number, phone number, and the color and make of your car.

3. When you arrive at the library, pull into one of the designated Curbside Delivery spaces in our parking lot and open your car trunk. A staff member will bring your items (packed in a new disposable bag) out to your vehicle and place them in your trunk. Staff will be wearing gloves and masks; staff will not accept any returns or other materials from patrons. Curbside Service is not available after 4:30 p.m.

Contactless Walk-Up Service:

1. Request materials by calling 309-543-4701 or by using your online library account at https://alsi.sdp.sirsi.net/client/en_US/HavanaPLD/

2. A library staff member will call you to set up a pickup time. They will ask for your name and/or library card number, and phone number.

3. When you arrive at the library, please ring the wireless doorbell, then step back six feet. A staff member will bring out your items packed in a new disposable bag. Walk-Up Service is not available after 4:30 p.m.

If you’re not sure what you want to read (or watch or listen to) next, we have a solution! Call us at 309-543-4701 and give us the names of authors, books, or films you’ve enjoyed in the past. We will put together a sampler of items for you to try!

Other Services

Staff is available to answer questions by phone Tuesday through Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Curbside Delivery and Contactless Walk-Up will be available from 9:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

If you need something printed or faxed, call us at 309-543-4701. We will ask you to email the document to our reference email, info@havana.lib.il.us. We’ll print the document and set up a time for you to pick it up via curbside or contactless walk-up. While the building remains closed to the public, all print and fax orders numbering 5 pages or less will be free of charge.

We post a new WIFI code on the doors every week. Our wifi is accessible from the street and the parking lot.
